About the icon (Dreamwidth only): I can't remember seeing this joke in this context used anywhere else, but it seems unlikely that I'm the only person who had this idea. If you feel I'm ripping somebody off, please tell me.
Anyway, after Sins of the father I started thinking of possible Gwen-centric episodes that wouldn't be about Arthur (or Lancelot), and that got me thinking about Gwen and Morgana, and an issue I have with their relationship. Because while they obviously like/love* and are fiercely protective of each other, they don't really seem to be honest with each other. (And one can read class and race issues into Morgana's protectiveness of Gwen and possibly ablism [?] issues into Gwen's protectiveness of Morgana, but I don't really feel qualified to delve deeper into that.) It doesn't seem like Gwen has told Morgana about Lancelot or Arthur, or that Morgana would even want to know about that. And it doesn't seem like Morgana has told Gwen about her magic, or what happened at the druids. And I wonder if they have any in-depth discussion about the various weird shit that keep happening in Camelot, or about losing parents in sudden and violent ways.
So, on one hand I would like them to talk about all this, and to be angry at each other. On the other hand, I don't see the show letting them do this and then re-define their friendship. A quarrel might mean permanent break-up, and I don't want to lose this rare female friendship, flawed as it is.
*Gwen/Morgana as a romantic pairing is something I've understood where it comes from but never felt, but I'm slowly warming up to it, in a fanon way at least.
In sillier news: I used to think my favorite scenario for a Merlin/Harry Potter-crossover would be teenage Albus Dumbledore falling into Camelot (much like Legolas fangirls used to fall into Middle-Earth in 2002) and learn about the power of love and teach Merlin about the power of novelty socks, but after yesterday's episode I rather want movie-Snape to fall into Camelot and strut trough the hallways calling Merlin "idiot boy".
