*Real history nitpick: In 1631, the “crown prince” of Sweden was a four-year-old girl, so this episode plot was ridiculous from the get-go. Still, it was mildly entertaining as long as it was about a princess bravely accepting to enter an arranged marriage while exchanging longing looks with her hot manservant and became darkly hilarious when it turned out to be about ASSASINS. (Would have preferred it if real princess Louise had run away with her companion of choice instead of being killed, though.)

* Last night I was thisclose to write a speculation post about who will die this series, and I have to admit that Bonacieux was very far down that list. Thank you for genuinely surprising me, show! (And while I’ve enjoyed Bodhan Poraj’s performance I’m not exactly sad to see the character go.) Current death speculation list: Rochefort , Marguerite and the Dauphin will die this series, all other main characters will live (unless an actor wants to quit), Constance and/or Milady might die during S3 (though I think at least Milady’s death will be different from the book version), so might Treville, Louis will probably live but might show signs of ill health, the rest will probably survive.

*Athos and Porthos go crime solving! On one hand, I wish the show could do more with their particular relationship, on the other hand it’s nice to just see them working together and being competent sometimes. And La Rochelle was mentioned! Good thing that the boys didn’t mention the nice picknick they had there.

*Doctor Sir Hallam is back, prompted by his crush on Constance to perform new medical feats. (Meanwhile, Lady Persie’s reign moves towards it’s inevitable end and Lady Agnes has to close her sexy-lingerie shop. Life is not fair.) I’d love to see him again, but not if there is going to be some stupid love triangle, or that Constance will refuse to marry d’Artagnan because she feels she doesn’t deserve happiness, but will accept a proposal from Lemay so she can be his unloving assistant.

*If anyone was wondering if Milady was turning into a non-sekrit woobie, the answer seems to be a resounding NO. I’m not saying that I actually liked her killing Sophia (?) (it would have been more fun if she had recruited her as a hench-woman), but I like that she’s stays independent, no matter how enjoyable the Scenes from the de la Fere marriage are.

*Prediction for what will happen when Porthos meets Belgard next week:
“Are you my father?”
“Nope.”
“Seriously, ARE you my father?”
“No.”
“But your old best friend said so and your other old best friend hinted it and…”
“I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, PLEASE DROP THE SUBJECT, MY GOOD MAN.”
[Belgard gets mortally wounded.]
“Porthos, I’m your father!”

*Aramis stopping to check himself and his moustache out in a mirror was hilarious, apart from that the only good thing about the Aramis-Marguerite-Rochefort-Anne mess is that it will soon be over.
